McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom
The F-4 Phantom II, first introduced in 1960, was a work horse of the US armed forces for decades. It served in the US Air Force, Navy, and Marines as an interceptor and fighter-bomber. F-4’s saw extensive use throughout the Vietnam War, where it earned the nickname “MiG killer” due to its successes in air-to-air combat. Although currently retired from US Armed Forces, still sees use in foreign militaries to this day. The aircraft on display is on loan from theĀ National Naval Aviation Museum.
