Taylorcraft L-2M
An aircraft all of the museum pilots know well, our L-2M was built in 1942 and served during WWII as a basic trainer in the Army Air Corps at Lubbock Army Airfield. The plane was restored in 2005 and given its delivery paint scheme. Due to its light weight, it has been affectionately named “Tumbleweed”. The plane is a joy to fly and has been an introduction to tail-dragger aircraft for many of our pilots. You can sometimes see members hand-propping this wonderful aircraft on Saturdays when winds are right for a short local flight.
More information on this aircraft is in progress – thank you for your patience as we develop our site!
